2sleepy

"bedroom pop" band

The story of «2sleepy» commences at the end of 2005 when two friends: Andriy 'Paranoid' Prokopenko (drum-machine, programming, vocal), and Yura 'Dorialan' Marchenko (guitar, keyboard, back vocal) decided to combine their efforts in order to compose music and share it via the Internet. Initially, their music was heavily influenced by Bjork and NIN.

Band’s name was inspired by the incidental phrase "…not now, I’m too sleepy". "2sleepy" used Internet to share their music and thus gained support among Ukrainian (and foreign) audiences.

It was only later that a new member has joined the band: Yurko Kozy, a bass guitar player, has significantly amplified band's capabilities.

Their debut album "Fragments Of Sleep" was released on "Laridae" Austrian net-label in the autumn of 2006 and the band performed their first gig with the band "Nimb" in the musical shop "MuzTorg".

At winter 2007 Yurko left "2sleepy’ to work on his own project and Seva (vocal, keyboards, programming) joined the band.

2sleepy transformed Seva’s bedroom into a small recording studio to prepare for a new album recording. They decided it would be a splendid place for their sleepy music. The mixing and mastering were made on CTS-Records, Sergio Mega techno-producer’s studio. "2sleepy" performed live only twice during the recording process: they participated in the international festival of experimental electronic music "Detali Zvuku", and also played together with band "Nimb" and Russian famous musician "Dolphine".

A new album called «Art Fraud» was released in Ukraine in April of 2008 on CD with the support of "Esthetic Music" label. New LP was a proof of band's evolution: a warm romantic electronic sound filled with leisurely rumbles of analogue synthesizers and drum-machines came in the stead of raw digital sound. Musicians claim that their "bedroom pop" album has a wide range of influences – from "The Doors" to "Au Revoir Simone" and "Notwist"

People in the band pay a lot of attention to their shows: they collaborate with various VJs to create a vibrant, memorable atmosphere. At concerts "2sleepy" play live, using the entire arsenal of their musical gear: synthesizers, samplers, effectors, and guitar
